Q:  "What is rigging?"

A: Physically moving any and all types of industrial, medical, or commercial equipment. We specialize in moving large, heavy and delicate equipment. Examples where a rigger is required include: MRI systems, printing presses, machine tools, chillers, boilers, plastic injection equipment, manufacturing systems, robotic equipment, wood working machinery and die-cutters.

Q:  "What amount of insurance does T&D carry?"  

A: T&D carries a $5,000,000 general liability coverage.  You may request a rider policy for your equipment at your expense .

Q: "Can we rent your equipment?"  

A: Unfortunately, our insurance does not allow us to rent out equipment.

Q: "Do I need to make an appointment for delivery and pickup at your facility?"  

A: Yes.  24 hours notice is requested, but not mandatory.

Q: "Will you rig in residential areas?"

A: Only on a case-by-case basis.  A visit by one of our project managers is required.

Q: May we schedule a tour of your facilities to determine if our needs can be met”?

Q: “Due to the space requirements and weight of the machinery to be moved, a forklift that is normally used for this purpose will not be able to enter our work area.  Do you have other specialized equipment that will allow this work to be done”?

A: Yes, we utilize our specialized gantry lifts, which we designed and built, to set up and disassemble equipment where the application is not conducive for a forklift.  

Q: "Does T&D Machine Handling sell or service used printing equipment?"

Q: “Can T&D Machine Handling  unload and load ocean containers”?

A: Yes, we have the resources to unload any overseas container including hard tops, open tops or flat racks. Our 55 Ton overhead crane is the solution for loading or unloading of ocean containers. Additionally, the inside loading dock keeps shipments safe and free from detrimental weather conditions.

Q: “Does T&D Machine Handling provide full export services”?

A: Yes, we have access and extensive training on all of the equipment and vehicles necessary for all export services.  We can receive, unload, offload and reload containers onto custom hydraulic trucks.  We also have the expertise to handle intercontinental freight.

Q: “Can you package and crate machinery being shipped to an international destination in an ocean container”?

A: Yes, packaging includes lubrication, heat shrink or plastic wrapping for international ocean shipments. Your machines must be protected in the harshest of environments.   We have a fully equipped carpentry and machine shop with an array of machines to facilitate and handle special crating. When required, we can design and build special containers for your equipment. Our years of experience has taught us how to properly brace, secure and load equipment for a safe trip around the world or just next door.

Q: “We have a heavy piece of equipment associated with our building’s HVAC system that must be lowered down a shaft from the rooftop; turn 90 degrees at the bottom of the shaft and then move laterally approximately 50 feet to its final position. Is this type of job within your scope of work?”

A: Yes, our staff has extensive machine handling and rigging experience.  Our equipment includes special gantries; lifting devices and spreader beams that we designed and built.  Our VERSALIFT® gives us machine handling capabilities beyond the realm of any other full service provider for industrial machinery clients.

Q: “We have an entire plant of printing equipment to move to our new building. The equipment consists of offset and flexographic printing equipment plus the accompanying post-press equipment. Are you equipped with the necessary experience, equipment and tools to handle this job?"

A: Yes, T&D Machine Handling will furnish all labor, technicians, rigging, materials, tools, equipment and supplies necessary for the disassembly, transportation, relocation, reassembly, and installation. Mechanical and electrical will be provided by us for all work within the machines.

Q: “We have an international shipment of heavy equipment arriving at a US dock, on the east coast, in less than 30 days, is T&D able to assist us”?
